Let CityGuide DMS show you the way !
 

The new functions allow the user to choose from a selection of predetermined tours, for example circular walks, nature and sports trails and many more.

 Tours - Functions

 
The following functions will become available, once the touring mode has been activated. Please click on any of the numbered areas for more details ...

 Tours - Menu

 
This is the menu "Tours" from the CityGuide application ...
 


 

Tours off
 

Turns off tours mode.
 

Öffnen
 
Opens the properties panel in order to choose a new tour.
 
Save as GPX
 

Saves an opened tour to your computer in GPX format. These files can then be transfered to mobile navigation devices.
 

Elevation profile
 

Turns the elevation profile of a map on or off, depending on whether a digital ground model is available to the current routing grid.
 

Jump to waypoints
 

Go directly to a waypoint or travel along the tour until it is reached.

 Tours - Toolbar

 
Once the touring mode has been activated, the following toolbar will appear at the top of the map window ...
 

 
The individual tools have the following functions ...
 

Opens the properties panel for the current tour. Here, you can choose and calculate tours from a list.
 
Turns the elevation profile of a tour on or off, depending on whether a digital ground model is available to the current routing grid.
 
Navigates to the starting point of the current tour.
 
 
Navigates to the previous point in the current tour.
 
 
Navigates to the next point in the current tour.
 
 
Navigates to the end point of the current tour.
 

The toolbar info text provides the following information:

(1) Name of the selected tour.
 
 
 

 
 
 Tours - Details und Height Elevation

 
This part of the map window provides detailed information about the current tour. There is also the option of turning the elevation profile of a map on or off, depending on whether a digital ground model is available to the current routing grid.
 

 
Die einzelnen Felder haben hierbei die folgenden Bedeutungen ...

(1) Length = Total length of the tour in km.
(2) Height difference = The sum total of the tour's entire vertical distance.
(3) Time = The duration of the tour in hh:mm according to the stated speed.
(4) Max. grad. up = The maximum upwards incline within the tour.
(5) Max. grad. down = The maximum downwards incline within the tour.
(6) Max. height = The maximum height difference within the tour.
 

 

 
 
 Tours - Overview

 
To aid navigation within a tour and on the currently selected map, the overview window displays the course of the tour and its waypoints, as follows ...

 Tours - Controls

 
The tours-tab on the program interface determines how the current tour is displayed
and / or controlled

(1) View = Choose between detailed directions or the list of waypoints for the tour.
(2) List = Select and control points within a tour.
(3) Jump to waypoint on/off = Specify how a tour is to be navigated.

 Tours - Properties panel

 
Choose from a selection of predetermined tours, from the properties panel. For example circular walks, nature and sports trails and many more ...
 
 


 

Click the "Start" button to recalculate a tour and to close the properties panel.

 
Once the tour has been created, the properties panel may be opened again at any time in order to choose and open another predetermined tour.
 

 

 
 
 Important Information

 
Please take note of the following important information, when using the tours functions ...
 

  • The specified tours functions are not available in every CityGuide DMS application.
    Whether certain functions are included, is dependant on the operator of the particular version in use ! 
     
     
  • Your tours, together with directions, can be printed out. Select Print View in the CityGuide application, to open the program's print preview.
